Metabolic Issues

Metabolic typing

All nutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals) are best absorbed and utilized at the optimal blood pH of 7.46 (slightly alkaline).

Changes in the blood pH are caused by stressful lifestyle, haphazard eating habits and external pollutants. An acidic internal environment leads to weight gain, fatigue and illness.

Acidified blood leaches calcium from bones contributing to osteoporosis, cavities and gum disease. Additionally, bacteria and viruses flourish in an overly acidic environment leading to recurrent infections.

Your metabolic type defines the way in which your body processes food to produce energy. The blood pH is a reliable indicator of the balance within these basic control mechanisms.

People with different metabolic types react differently to the same nutrients. Many foods can actually have the opposite effect in the body depending on your metabolic type.

Through metabolic typing you can find out how to achieve an ideal blood pH or level of alkalinity. Knowing your metabolic type allows you to eat a diet rich in foods that keep your blood alkalized for optimum nutrition.

Aging and degeneration

Joy at any age

A metabolic shift of slowing down happens at around age 50. It becomes easier for people to develop nutritional deficiencies which can lead to degenerative conditions. For instance, digestive fluid production in the stomach slows down with age.

Consequently, protein digestion suffers and we don't get the full benefit of what we eat. Heartburn sets in. Arthritis, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, heart problems, prostate and urinary troubles can be unwelcome guests in our bodies.

At this age it becomes critical to pay attention to our digestion, to make sure we put in the top quality ingredients our bodies require for repair. Since we have abused our bodies all our adult lives of hard work, it is now time to make our apologies.

We may need digestive aids or benefit from a daily tonic.
A personalized nutrition and supplement plan will pay dividends in terms of a smoother, less troubled old age.

Hormone Issues

Female concerns

Menstrual pain, headache, constipation, diarrhea, PMS, swelling, bloating, irregular cycle, are just a few of the symptoms plaguing women.

There is cause for concern when there is too much bleeding or no bleeding at all, sweating buckets or debilitating pain.

Then we tease out what the symptoms are telling us: is there a hormone imbalance, vitamin deficiency, food allergies, hypoglycemia or other reasons?

It may be that your liver needs help breaking down the hormones. It may be that your nervous system needs support. There are functional foods and natural solutions for many of these problems.

Regulating menses takes at least three cycles, patience and resolve are needed to carry through with the regimen but successful periods or easier menopause make it all worthwhile.

Male concerns

Loss of libido, loss of spontaneous morning erections, and lack of drive or interest are just a few of the symptoms that signal diminished testosterone levels.

Because of the high stress of our lives this can strike even young men and athletes. Testosterone replacement can further impair your own production ability.

This situation can have debilitating emotional consequences for men who suffer in silence. A complicated hormonal interaction must be rebalanced in order to correct this problem.

Mature men may experience difficulty urinating, due to an enlarged prostate.
A specific nutrient/supplement plan based on careful assessment can improve these conditions naturally.
